Based on historical archive, The Mill is a historical drama set in rural England at a time when the industrial revolution was changing the country beyond recognition. The story is told from the perspectives of young apprentices.
Project:
tpr media organised press screenings at the BFI in London and at Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, engaging with stories from its exhaustive National Trust archive. We also designed a media campaign which positioned the drama as a refreshing antidote to costume drama, and promoted its pool of young talent. The first series was the highest rating Channel 4 drama series since Shane Meadows’ This is England.
